IE expo Guangzhou 2023: leading the way in environmental innovation
417 exhibitors got together for high-quality development

On September 22, after a two-year hiatus, IE expo Guangzhou 2023—jointly organized by the Guangdong Association of Environmental Protection Industry and Messe Muenchen Zhongmao Co., Ltd.—came to a close at the China Import and Export Fair Complex. With 417 exhibitors and 20,606 trade visitors from 19 countries and regions convening in a 30,000 square meter exhibition space, this edition marked a remarkable return.
Mr. Jinzhou XU, the second-level inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, praised the exhibition's role in promoting the high-quality development of the province's environmental protection industry. He emphasized its significance in ecological protection and green economic development.
Diverse exhibitor landscape
IE expo Guangzhou 2023 attracted 417 exhibitors, including international players like GRUNDFOS, NETZSCH, and CATERPILLAR. Local giants, such as GUANGDONG GUANGYE EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURING GROUP and GUANGDONG XINHUAN ENVIRONMENTAL INDUSTRY GROUP, showcased their environmental solutions. This diverse mix of exhibitors reflected industry growth and innovation.
Mr. Xudong LUAN, the General Manager of the Environmental Protection Department of JIANGSU SKYRAY INSTRUMENT CO., LTD., highlighted the event's scale and the diversity of exhibits, providing a platform for fruitful communication and collaboration.
Furthermore, IE expo Guangzhou 2023 brought together over 20 environmental protection industry associations from across the country and the “Pan Pearl” and “Pan Pearl River+” regions. This collective effort aimed to boost industry confidence and support high-quality development.
Global interest and demand
The three-day trade show welcomed over 20,606 visitors from 19 countries and regions, reflecting a 13.5 % increase from 2021. High-quality trade buyers, including international visitors from Italy, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil, explored environmental solutions Made in China. Overseas visitor numbers saw a 29 % increase from 2021, signifying a return to pre-COVID international participation levels.

Fostering innovation
The event's accompanying 5th Guangdong Provincial Conference on High Quality Development of Environmental Protection Industry with presentations and discussion panels on digital intelligence, ecological reconstruction, technology integration, carbon neutrality and sustainability featured 185 industry experts to explore new ideas for the future.
IE expo Guangzhou 2023 may have ended, but its impact on the environmental protection industry continues. With 25 years of experience, IE expo remains committed to building a platform for industry communication and cooperation. The next IE expo in South China is scheduled for Shenzhen in 2024, from September 23 to 25.
